Fiji’s Small and Micro Enterprises Collaborates with Indonesia

Small and Micro Enterprises Development in Fiji will be collaborating and working closely with the Indonesian Government in the future.


The Indonesian Minister for Women Empowerment and Child Protection from the Republic of Indonesia Professor Yohana Susana Yembise with other Indonesian delegates visited the NCSMED centre on Tuesday.


Speaking at the event, Indonesian Business Women’s Association, Nita Yudi highlighted on the importance of Fiji and Indonesia.

“We are happy and we are ready to help and work with the Fijian Government in areas of Small and Micro Enterprises Development,” Ms Yudi said.


She also mentioned that the Indonesian Government would work closely to make entrepreneurship easier for those interested.

“We will do more to motivate those interested to become entrepreneurs as this will not only benefit them but the economy as well.”


Ravi Chand, the acting chief executive for National Centre for Small and Micro Enterprises Development also said that more hope for collaboration in the area of Small and Micro Enterprises Development was evident.

“SME’s are a very important sector and we will support and promote SME’s,” Mr Chand said.


“There is a lot of interest from all the stakeholders and the visit today by the Indonesian delegates and the Minister shows that there are many areas where we can collaborate to further grow this very important sector in Fiji.”


Mr Chand also thanked the Indonesian Delegates and the Minister for willingly supporting the initiatives between Indonesia and Fiji in the future.
